Interrupted Interludes, Op. 7 (1977)

The backgrounds to these labours of love are

J.S. Bach (1685-1750) - Orchestral Suite No. 4 (1730): I. Ouverture,

F.J. Haydn (1732-1809) - Symphony No. 102 in Bb Major (1794): I. Largo-Vivace

Hector Berlioz (1803-1869) - Benvenuto Cellini, Op. 23 (1838): Overture,

Isaac Albeniz (1860-1909) - Iberia (1909), both in its original piano rendition and in

orchestration principally credited to Carlos Surinach (1915-1997),

Richard Strauss (1864-1949) - Divertimento after Keyboard Pieces of Couperin for Chamber Orchestra (1941), Op. 86,

Gerald Finzi (1901-1956) -

Cello Concerto, Op. 40 (1956), heard by the composer the last day before death,

his ashes scattered on May Hill,

where Morris ("Moorish", related to the Renaissance Moresque Dance, c. 1450) Dancers (pictured above Will Kemp [1560-1604, renowned, yet dying in poverty] -- William Shakespeare[1564-1616]'s company "fool" -- dancing across England, 1600) hold forth each 1st of said month... and

Ernesto Halffter - Serenade a Dulcinee (1951).

Futher revelations of the Crimes of the Former Guy continue, as he blames Mike Pence for the Insurrection,

and his role in

deepens.

A re-run of PBS/Frontline *****'s American Carnage (January 15, 2021 -- once again, a line first uttered by the First Baby proved reflexive... just about any horrible thing he says about others is really about himself) helps in review....

Another horror of the politico-socio day is the plethora of bomb threats against Historically Black Universities -- 3rd time this year, and certainly in part due to the Racist Orangman's rhetoric (too big of a word for his Infantile Rantings, but euphonous) -- motivating a bit a research re such Institutions,

which date back to the founding of Southeastern Pennsylvania's Cheyney University (as the African Institute in 1937, due to the initial largesse of Quaker philanthorpist Richard Humphrey, 1750-1832), a visual stone's-throw away from Westtown School, and my association there from 1983-1986.
